The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel, is rehabilitating the failed portion of Omilani Street, in what residents described as a timely intervention to end years of hardship for commuters and businesses along the corridor.
Speaking during an inspection of the project site on Saturday, Hon. Daniel said the rehabilitation reflects his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and forms part of a broader infrastructural drive to improve road networks and enhance quality of life across the LCDA.
“The deplorable state of this road has posed serious challenges to commuters, residents and businesses here. This intervention will restore safer, more accessible road conditions and stimulate economic activities,” the Chairman stated.
Hon. Daniel, who expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, assured residents of quality delivery and timely completion, noting that the council had mapped out additional infrastructural interventions across various communities as part of a strategic blueprint for sustainable development.
Beyond road rehabilitation, the Odunayo-led administration has sustained regular carting away of refuse across streets in Itire-Ikate LCDA, a move the council said underscores the importance of an enabling environment free from the risk of cholera outbreaks and other sanitation-related health challenges.
